PLACE PIXELS
  • a capacity badge
  • not a speed badge
  • 1,000 maximum paint

Big Buckets means a bigger bucket. Not a faster one.

The badge marks a maximum paint pool of 1,000 or more. It measures the size of the bucket rather than how much has gone through it, and raising it does not make you paint any faster.

  • Refill rate and capacity are separate
  • Levels and upgrades raise the cap
  • Nothing bought reaches the standings

What it marks

Capacity, not output. Maximum paint is how much your pool holds when it is full, and Big Buckets is awarded once that maximum reaches 1,000. Someone who has placed a hundred thousand pixels one at a time without ever raising their cap does not have it.

It does not make you faster

The cap goes up two ways: leveling, 2 charges a level, and spending 500 droplets on 5 of permanent capacity. Neither touches the refill rate, which stays at one pixel every 30 seconds.

What a bigger pool changes

What does a large pool buy?

Place Pixels

A session. You can sit down to a piece that takes several hundred pixels and finish it in one go, which is the difference between painting a window and painting a building.

A small pool

A visit. You arrive, spend what regenerated, and leave.

A full pool stops refilling, so every hour past full is wasted. A bigger cap means you can be gone longer before that starts.

How capacity works here

The same idea with different numbers, no badge attached, and one difference that matters more than the cap: a save here can place 5,000 pixels at once, so a full wallet is spent on a building rather than dripped onto one square at a time.

A new wallet caps at
300
At level 10
660levels 2 to 10 add 40 each
Each Stardust upgrade
+50permanent, and buys capacity only
Pixel Plus
+350and refills every 10s instead of 20s, while it is active

Later levels add 35, then 30, then 25.

None of it reaches the standings

Capacity and rate are separate here too, and neither reaches the standings. Leagues, city standings and alliance standings all rank on unboosted placement.

no badge to grind for

Spend the whole bucket in one go

A wallet of 200 on a shared map of the real world, and a save that places 5,000 pixels at a time. Your first 50 pixels go down before you make an account.

Common questions

What is Big Buckets on wplace?

A badge for raising your maximum paint to 1,000 or more. It marks capacity rather than how much you have painted.

How do I get Big Buckets?

By raising your maximum pool past 1,000, which comes from leveling up and from spending droplets on permanent capacity upgrades.

Does a bigger pool make you place pixels faster?

No. Refill rate and capacity are separate. A larger pool means a longer session before you run dry, not a shorter wait between pixels.

Is there an equivalent on Place Pixels?

Capacity works the same way and there is no badge for it. A new wallet caps at 300, leveling adds 40 a level through level 10, and each purchased upgrade adds 50.
